Recommended as a leading senior junior in clinical negligence and personal injury & professional negligence, Angus represents the professional world in particular doctors and dentists, but also accountants, architects, engineers, financial advisors, insurance brokers, surveyors, teachers and valuers. He also acts for a number of local authorities in personal injury claims as well as numerous NHS Trusts.

Angus has extensive ADR experience (he has acted in mediations, arbitrations and on adjudications). His advocacy skills have been demonstrated in many cases ranging in venues from the Masters’ Corridor to the Court of Appeal.

Angus has contributed to all recent editions of  Local Authority Liability (Morrell and Foster).

Recent cases
As well as attending Inquests in high value and/or high profile or complex matters, Angus this year secured the dismissal, with costs, for the defendant in a highways/occupiers liability claim Singh v Cardiff [2017] EWHC 1499 (QB). He acted for the NHS Trust in Pullen v Thurrock NHS Trust [2015] EWHC 3134 (QB) and for the insurance broker (at first instance and in the CA) in Sugar Hut Group v A J Insurance [2016] EWCA Civ 46. He has considerable experience in ADR and at RTSMs, where many of his clinical negligence and personal injury claims are concluded. Angus also has a particular expertise in highway claims, and claims involving trees, following his success in Micklewright v Surrey CC [2011] EWCA Civ 922.
