Recent cases

  • Bowen-James v Commissioner of Police for the Metropolis. Acting for the Commissioner on this appeal to the Supreme Court concerning whether an employer owes a duty of care to an employee in the manner in which it defends litigation.

  • Edwards v London Borough of Sutton [2016] EWCA 1005. Successfully acted for the defendant council in the Court of Appeal on this high value personal injury claim concerning the liability of the occupiers of a public park.

  • In re the Estate of Jimmy Savile [2014] EWCA 1632: represented the BBC in claims for compensation for abuse by Jimmy Savile.

  • Various v British Airways. Acted for British Airways in claims alleging abuse perpetrated by a pilot in Africa.
